Helping You Understand the Whole Dog, Not Just the Behaviour

Seeing Dogs Differently is an educational movement encouraging people to look beyond labels and become more curious about what dogs may be communicating.

Rather than simply asking how to stop a behaviour, we explore the dog’s emotions, health, environment, experiences, learning and individual needs.

What Does It Mean to See Dogs Differently?

 Behaviour may be influenced by:

  • emotional state;
  • physical health or pain;
  • stress and overwhelm;
  • environment;
  • learning history;
  • relationships;
  • lifestyle;
  • breed traits and individuality.

Change the Question

Instead of asking:

“How do I stop this behaviour?”

Try asking:

“What might my dog be trying to communicate?”

Behaviour rarely happens without a reason. When we look beyond what the dog is doing and begin exploring their emotions, needs, health, environment and experiences, we can respond with greater understanding and compassion.
